About the Role
Develop cutting-edge bilingual clinical NLP models that process mixed French/English medical documentation. You'll create the first commercial-grade solution for Quebec's unique healthcare terminology while building scalable AI systems for global deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced NLP Development: Build sophisticated models for medical terminology, clinical abbreviations, and multi-language documentation.
- Clinical AI Safety: Implement advanced techniques ensuring medical documentation accuracy and safety.
- Intelligent Automation: Develop extraction algorithms for complex regulatory forms with interdependent field validation.
- Model Training Pipeline: Create robust training pipelines using clinical data with expert validation loops.
- Performance Optimization: Achieve industry-leading accuracy targets while maintaining real-time processing speed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Computational Linguistics, or related field.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with NLP frameworks including spaCy, Transformers, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Strong background in clinical or medical text processing with understanding of healthcare terminology.
- Experience with multilingual NLP, language detection, and cross-lingual model development.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud ML platforms (GCP, AWS), and MLOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare NLP experience including clinical notes processing, medical coding, or pharmaceutical text analysis.
- French language proficiency for Quebec medical terminology and clinical documentation.
- Experience with HIPAA/PIPEDA compliant ML pipelines and healthcare data security.
- Knowledge of medical ontologies including SNOMED CT, ICD-10, and RAMQ coding systems.
