About the Role
Lead the technical vision and architecture for AICA's global expansion. You'll oversee our transition from Quebec validation to international healthcare AI leadership, managing a growing engineering team while driving technical excellence across all R&D objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define technical roadmap for healthcare AI platform with global scalability and regulatory compliance.
- Team Building: Scale engineering team from 3 to 20+ members over 18 months, establishing world-class technical culture.
- Architecture Oversight: Ensure enterprise-grade scalability for multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure serving thousands of users.
- R&D Direction: Guide critical AI initiatives including clinical NLP, workflow automation, and healthcare system integration.
- Stakeholder Management: Interface with government funding bodies, strategic partners, and investors.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years software engineering leadership experience with proven track record of scaling technical teams.
- 5+ years healthcare IT or regulated industry experience (HIPAA, PIPEDA, SOC 2 compliance).
- Demonstrated success scaling SaaS platforms from prototype to production with enterprise customers.
- Deep experience with multi-tenant architectures, enterprise security, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Strong background in AI/ML implementation, team management, and technical strategy development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare interoperability experience with FHIR, HL7, or clinical data standards.
- Bilingual communication skills (French/English) for Quebec healthcare market.
- Previous startup CTO or VP Engineering experience with successful fundraising participation.
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare regulations and provincial compliance requirements.
